As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at DealerBuilt, Virginia Yanez brings sharp focus, methodical thinking, and a deep commitment to product quality. Her mission? To ensure every deployment meets the high standards that customers expect—and to catch bugs before they ever become a problem.
With a background in computer science engineering and a passion for continuous improvement, Virginia plays a crucial role in making sure the software runs exactly as it should.
Turning Test Plans Into Peace of Mind
Virginia’s day-to-day work revolves around identifying bugs, verifying solutions, and preventing issues from slipping through the cracks. She collaborates closely with developers and product owners, working behind the scenes to make sure what gets shipped is not just functional, but rock-solid.
A typical day includes:

Daily stand-ups with the QA team to review progress and blockers

Re-testing reported issues and reviewing new requirements

Designing and executing detailed test cases that help reduce risk and increase confidence before deployment

Before DealerBuilt, Virginia had never worked in the auto industry or in a fully remote enviornment. At first, she was hesitant to take the leap. But something told her it was worth the risk.
“Initially, I was afraid to accept the challenge. But looking back, I’m very happy I did.”
She quickly found that both the role and the company were a perfect fit—giving her space to grow professionally while contributing to meaningful, high-impact work.
