John Hosmer

President / Chairman

Mr. John Hosmer is the founder of DealerBuilt, and the initial visionary behind the DealerBuilt DMS. As DealerBuilt President, he developed a user-friendly and intuitive Dealer Management System (DMS) by listening to the needs of the dealer; which continues to be our guiding principle.

He has been directly involved with the design and development of all aspects of the DealerBuilt DMS. In addition, Mr. Hosmer owns and operates profitable and growing Toyota and Honda franchises in Iowa.

These dealerships remain the proving grounds for DealerBuilt’s latest product enhancements.

Mr. Hosmer’s early technical endeavors included the development of a revolutionary analytical tool that played a key role in his dealership’s profitability; eventually culminating in the foundation of the DealerBuilt DMS.

Michael Trasatti

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Michael Trasatti has 18 years of experience developing and deploying information technology solutions, six years of which were exclusively in the auto retail space. He has consulted startups and large DMS vendors in a variety of capacities.

He previously assisted Dealer Solutions in stabilizing a newly released DMS, working closely with clients, management, and the development teams. His work secured the product line, aiding in the sale of Dealer Solutions to ADP, where he worked closely with ADP management in their effort to develop a next generation product.

Prior to partnering with DealerBuilt, he served as Chief Information Officer for a consumer finance company during a time of double-digit revenue growth and expansion that doubled the size of the company. Mr. Trasatti is a CPA and brings an in-depth knowledge of auto-retail technology to the organization and visionary leadership to the team.

Frank Lucas

Chief Operating Officer & Executive VP Product Strategy

Mr. Frank Lucas has over 30 years of automotive retail experience, including managing the business operations of Galpin Motors, the largest volume Ford dealer in the world.

Prior to Galpin, Mr. Lucas was the President of a large group of dealerships.

He created one of the first automotive management companies that brought consolidation and control over similar functions that today’s public consolidators employ.

Mr. Lucas brings a remarkable sense of the auto-retail market, an ability to develop marketing strategies geared towards the auto-retailer and a tremendous passion for the industry.

Brian Fread

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Brian Fread was hired as Chief Financial Officer of DealerBuilt in August 2015.

He is responsible for the financial and risk management of the company. Before joining DealerBuilt, Mr. Fread was working as a consult providing accounting and tax services to various small businesses.

Prior to that, he was Controller at a management company where he oversaw all financial aspects for 17 companies in the agriculture industry. Mr. Fread has also worked in the trucking and financial institution industries.

Mr. Fread earned his Masters Degree in Accounting at the University of Iowa and is CPA-certified in the State of Iowa.

Adam Brown

Chief Technology Officer

Adam Brown is our Director of Technology, a role in which he has thrived for several years. Long-term technology direction, solutions architecture and management of infrastructures are areas Adam has been involved in for 15 years.

He provides leadership for the continued development of an innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment throughout the DealerBuilt infrastructure and his responsibilities encompass a wide variety of strategic technology issues: governance and policy, resource allocation, information technology protocols, and the DealerBuilt Technology organization. Adam’s exceptional track record of technology improvement is based on his belief in quality and expandability.

He is known for his ability to quickly identify technology requirements and translate them into realizable features that go far beyond “quick fixes.” Adam is known for his ability to pre-empt future changes by building in enhancement capability from the beginning.

Ken Dimson

Chief Software Developer

Ken Dimson brings 30 years of software development experience to DealerBuilt.

Ken joined DealerBuilt in 2001 and for the past 15 years has contributed to all areas of the DealerBuilt software product.

As Chief Software Developer, Ken’s attention has always been the user experience and how to make software that empowers users to be successful in their respective duties.

Currently, Ken is leading the development of the DealerBuilt CRM product and the sales module of the DMS.

Bryan Tracey

National Sales Director

Bryan Tracey has a BS in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting & Data Processing, and 30 years of experience implementing DMS, CRM, and Marketing systems in Dealerships. Beginning in 1984, Bryan started as a Software Installation Specialist, learned & installed all departments of a Dealership in record time.

He was promoted to Regional Sales Support Specialist implementing demos and proposals that resulted in sales to some of the largest Dealership groups in that company’s history. Mr. Tracey advanced to National Training & Sales Support Manager and from there moved into sales where he has thrived! Bryan has accomplished his 20+ year record setting career by addressing the needs of his customers, overseeing the implementation of systems, and building a referral base.

Bryan Tracey’s experience made him an ideal candidate to lead DealerBuilt’s ongoing efforts to improve the DMS experience for the Dealer community. During Bryan’s tenure, DealerBuilt is experiencing double-digit year over year growth.

Veronica Dunford

National Accounts Director

Veronica Dunford joined DealerBuilt in 2012 as an installer and account manager. However as one of the US’s fastest growing DMS companies, her position was quickly advanced and in 2015 she became National Accounts Director overseeing our growing client pool as well as our account management team.

Ms. Dunford is responsible for establishing and developing relationships with customers and conveying their needs to our staff. Veronica possesses the ability to hold onto long-lasting business relationships and prioritizing work flow, while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

In addition to that leadership position, she also finds time to manage our CRM Team and push continued enhancement in that area within our system, striving to compete with our leading competitors in the field. As an added hat to her collection, Veronica oversees our Marketing brand, website development and social media efforts to keep DealerBuilt relevant in the marketplace.

Chris Vaughan

Product Development Manager

Chris Vaughan has always had an interest in computers; his work history reflects that interest.

Chris, who starting programming at age 12, took that hobby and made it his career eventually owning his own computer programming company.

In 2013 Mr. Vaughan reached out to DealerBuilt offering his company’s services and a year later found himself working full time with the company contributing both his programming knowledge and management skills, and now leading a team of developers and support staff in the Fixed Ops department of DealerBuilt.

Ammy Brits-Nixon

Executive Resource Coordinator

With vast experience in multi-company management, Ammy joined DealerBuilt nearly 2 years ago. She now works with DealerBuilt’s executive team in a dual role as a Resource Coordinator and Executive Assistant.

In her role as Executive Assistant to the President & CEO, Ammy closely coordinates all Company events & executive travel, as well as assisting and supporting the Install & Training teams on all client-related projects, which is a major task, but she is up for the challenge.

As DealerBuilt’s Resource Coordinator, Ammy ensures that no resources are being allocated to unnecessary tasks and all aspects of project are completed as quickly as possible. Because of this, a large amount of communication with our clients as well as our employees is key, and scheduling among all teams is crucial for success.

Ammy is definitely not a 9-5 employee, she is willing to jump in and tackle any project in any time zone.
